Our dedicated team of experienced carers support the residents, respecting their privacy, dignity and freedom of choice.

The Home is visited regularly by the local General Practice, and referrals are made as necessary for physiotherapy, chiropody, dentistry and outpatient care.

Eileen Carlton

Home Manager

The home is run by Mrs. Eileen Carlton who holds a Registered Manager in Care qualification and been approved by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Lorraine O'Riordan

Office Manager

Lorraine manages the day to day financial matters for the Home.

The Trustees

The eight Trustee Directors are all residents of Knowle, Dorridge or the immediate environs,

They give their time freely to benefit the running of the Home, and there is a broad skill mix within the board membership from medical, financial, property and management backgrounds.

Rowland Hopkinson​

Chair

A Knowle resident for 40 years Rowland is a doctor and retired consultant in anaesthesia and critical care medicine.

He has had extensive experience of hospital management. A trustee for 13 years he became the Board Chair in 2019.

Helen Ellis

Deputy Chair

Helen was formally a hospital manager and later a teacher of Economics & Business Studies. She is now a Trustee of the Birmingham Boys & Girls Union which runs Woodlands Adventure and the Solihull Children’s Special Needs Association as well as being a school governor.  

Gill Arbuthnot

Trustee
Gill has lived in Knowle and Dorridge for 50 years and has been associated with Job’s Close for 37 years, initially employed as Administrator of the Home and, on retiring, was invited to become a Trustee. She is a licensed Pastoral Minister with a local church.

Lilla Baker

Trustee

Lilla has lived in Knowle for over 20 years. As a registered Nurse she was a Senior Nurse Manager in Accident and Emergency services. Later she was a College Tutor/Assessor for Social Care and First Aid. She has been involved with the home for many years as a Trustee and as a past Board Chair.

Andy Hogarth

Trustee

Andy has been involve in the care sector for many years, most latterly as the CEO of Helping Hands, one of the UK’s largest home care providers. He is also a director of Hogarths Hotels based in Dorridge and Kidderminster. 

Glenys Lamb

Trustee

Resident in Knowle for 28 years Glenys is a qualified nurse. She has been a Board member and Trustee of Jobs Close for 25 years. Glenys is pro active in the presentation of the home and gardens.

Tony Stonehewer

Trustee

Tony has been a resident in Dorridge for 20 years. He is currently a Consultant Engineer having previously worked for British Gas and National Grid. He has been a Trustee for 3 years. He is as well a Governor at Arden Academy and an Explorer Scout Leader.

Andy Foulkes

Trustee

Andy has lived in Knowle for 35 years. He has spent 35 years in the manufacturing industry including Rover / BMW and Rolls-Royce Aerospace many of which were in Leadership / Senior Leadership roles in Supply Chain and Operations management.
